My dad shot a spike with his 16" 300BLK with 110 V-Max and it did just fine. Ran about 30yd, passed through the chest cavity just fine. I wouldn't mind using it for TX does and spikes. Heck, I would down a nice buck with one if I had to, but I want more margin for error on a bigger deer.
We've logged over 2 dozen hogs from 50yd to 120yd with 110 V-Max from either 10.5" barrel at 2200 fps or 16" barrel at 2400 fps. These are TX hillcountry animals, so nothing monster. Biggest hog probably 100-120lbs with the blackout. Hit them in the vitals and they will go down. Hogs seem to catch the V-max quite well. Maybe 50% pass through, but I typically aim for the shoulder on them so they don't run into the brush. Neck shots generally pass through. I have gone 15-for-15 on recoveries with my 10.5" Blackout shooting supers at mid-size hogs. These were all 1 shot kills with good shot placement, none were on the run.
I like blackout for 150yds and in, where I can get a nice clean vitals shot, and when I won't be heartbroken if something goes wrong. Hogs, Does, spikes.
Subsonics we are still gathering data. My dad has 1 good kill with the 190 SUB-X bullet with good expansion, then several run off because he didn't know his drop at the range he was firing. He's not used to something with that trajectory at such short distances.
