Killed a bull with one. Velocity was about 2k FPS at impact. Energy just a little less.
Here is the entrance. The bullet was stuck in the hide on the offside. Weight retention was 142 grains.

Nice Photos; any internal pics?

I ran my #s: impact velocity on the WY Bull was just over 2300 FPS w/2670# Energy. I feel this projectile really shines below 2500 FPS on elk; but would be very hesitant to use it if speeds were exceeding that based my limited experince and photos above.

I am blessed to own 2 X Custom 300 RUM's (one being a 9# classic stock hunter and the other is a dedicated 15# Ultra Long Range Rig) If I had to pick ELDX or ELDM for a single elk rifle, the ELDX is the better choice.

Wife punched her tag on a WY Bull @ 45 yards with the 9# rifle (212 ELDX / MV 3150 FPS). The bullet stayed together and left a softball size exit wound.

The BC loss going to the ELDX is minimal unless A: your shooting crazy high winds, or B: your shooting beyond a mile.

I also failed to mention that my photo was the entrance hole into the shoulder!

My father in law used the 225 EldM in my 300 ultra +p on his bull moose . The shot was 700 yards and effects were pretty devastating.

I shoot the BTHPs in my 300 WM, they work fine with a 1-10 twist. May just be me, but I don't trust anything with a tip when it comes to consistency at distance. Whatever the difference in BC, I have enough velocity to make BC a moot point at the distances I shoot. 1k is fine, haven't tried a mile yet.

i used them in my 300 norma to take a mulie and 2 bulls. couldn't have asked for better performance. I have had nothing but bad luck with berger but so far these seem like a great alternative
