2nd or 3rd gen Tacoma questions

If you're planning on lifting and adding bigger tires I'd plan to have the either the 2nd gen or 3rd gen tuned, especially the 3rd gen with its wonky gear ratios.

If you like the size of the F-150 you're currently driving, you could look at a 2nd gen (14-21) Tundra. You'd take a mpg hit, but there's several million mile tundra's driving around.

2013 taco here, very reliable and perfect for off roading and light truck duty. I would never try and compare it to a full size truck though. Comparing to an f150 or ram 1500 is an apples to oranges.

Some of you guys put some serious miles on! My 96 tacoma has 325k miles and I thought that was high.

We have two tacomas, 1996 and a 2020. Never needed a bigger truck as I don’t tow anything. Gas mileage is decent and they have gotten us anywhere we’ve needed to go.

I had a 2000 F150 that was a good truck, I enjoyed it, but I love my Taco.
