28x zoom

I'm looking at the above. 28x zoom.
Why would anyone need a 28x zoom?
Does anyone own one ?

If you don't know why anyone would need 28x, why are you opting for that magnification?
I.e. what led to to it

Nf makes a 4x32 and 7x35
Khales makes a 10x50 for fclass

Lots of people have 4x32s, most don’t use the top magnification

Outside of hunting, the extra magnification is really useful for shooting paper and targets. Do you need it no, but it is nice to have. Shooting paper and targets with my 4.5-28 March compared to my 2.5-15 trijicon is noticeable haha. In the real world I rarely shoot over 15x at animals.

ok, so 28x ++ is a 1000 yard scope.
My other scopes max out at 700 yards.. before it bottoms out.

20x + is good for zeroing that’s about it or taking shots at 1200+yds on small targets.

Have you ever shot a first focal plane scope?

I ask because you attribute a magnification range to shooting certain distances. Second focal plane has its place but in my opinion when the idea of getting a scope over 15-18X comes to mind it should be first focal plane.

20+ magnification is best suited to shooting groups at the range. But a scope having that higher upper range will make the image quality better on intermediate powers like 10-15 when compared to a 3-15 scope for instance.
