280 Remington bullet

I am looking for a good match/killing bullet for my 280 Remington in the 140 grain range. It is a beretta mato topped with an SHV night force. The barrel twist is a bit slower at 10.5:1, verified with a cleaning rod. This will be used for deer, elk, and silhouette matches.

Lead only please, I have no interest in another solid copper mono at this time.

140 trophy bonded tip if you can find them. Or 150 scenar or eldx would be a good match with 280

140 Berger VLD or 140 Nosler accubond are the two I shoot out of my 280. Also have a load of 140 Sierra gamekings that shoots great. All should get the job done

Yes or 140 Elite Hunter whichever you can find. They both shoot good and perform the same on game.

120 Nosler BT

Started testing these on my .280 and really like them. I run a 1:9 so I have a 140 HVLD load and now working on the 120BT

150 eld-x has been the go to out of my 280. Actually just got back from NZ where it performed fairly well on a decent sized stag. Bullet destroyed on side shoulder and expanded rapidly enough to take out 3 on side ribs. Opposite rib cage was untouched but there wasn’t a piece of lung left larger than my watch face. I didn’t find a single fragment of bullet. It did its job at 300 yards but it would be nice to see the bullet stay together a just a bit better.

They kill elk and deer pretty good out of a 7mm-08, so 280 would be skookum.
