I have a Kimber Mountain Ascent in 280Ai and have done some load work ups for it. Try as I may I could never get the 145 LRXs to group well, and the 168s would key hole. IMHO, at least in my rifle 160 grain is about the upper limit my barrel will stabilize. Mine shoots 140 and 160 Accubonds sub moa and I just got done fire forming some nickel plated brass and have a ladder loaded up for a long range Accubond load. ReLoader 17 and and 150 grain LRAB.

I'll be joining the 280AI group here shortly. I picked up a used Model 70 Classic Sporter that looks brand new in .270 Winchester. I am having my gunsmith rebarrel it in 280AI. It was either that or the 280 Remington. I had a 280 for years and sold it when money was tight always wanting to replace it later on. It will have a 1-9 twist 24" stainless barrel. I can't wait to get it back but it will be a few months now. I decided on the 280AI as it offers just a bit more than the 280 and it should also be with us for a long time. Great caliber to build on!!

One thing is if you shoot Ackleys make sure the bullet fits the gun as there are different specs of Ackley. This is the case with my Ackley. Its not built for Nosler ammo. But I thing the factory guns are. http://faq.nosler.com/index.php?action=artikel&cat=31&id=39&artlang=en

Thanks for the heads up. I have spent countless hours on the LRH forums lately getting all the info. Karl is working on it now. We decided to do a bit more to her than I planned on.
I plan on doing a right up after getting it and dialing it in.

I'm going Retro 7RM, I'll pass on the rest. Molyed 162's/250's/R-22/RP hulls, should be good stuff.

Have one of those too but it sounds cooler to say I have a .280Ackley than a 7mag LOL Plus the reloading time is far less and that is huge for as much as I shoot. Both very good guns thats for sure!
