270 wsm

I'm having a 270 wsm built on a Defiance xm+ med action. 22" barrel, 7.5 twist. I am looking for powder and primer recommendations for a 165gr nosler accubonds LR or 170gr berger elite hunter and adg brass

Don’t sleep on Ramshot grand, loaded 145eldx in an OEM tikka barrel had good results for speed and accuracy

Ive had good luck with imr7828ssc as well as pp4000mr. I would think retumbo would be a good choice as well.

Back when I loaded 270 WSM I had best result with H4831sc and RL22. Both topped with 140 SST.

I shot a 270 wsm built on a long action for 9 years. Only bullet I used was the Berger 170 EH. 3.100 Coal, I think 63.0 grains of H1000 shot at 3050 from 26” benchmark. Killed a lot of animals with that combo from 50-800 yards.

I had it up to 3100 fps, but that was a little spicy.

This is where I’m currently sitting, probably could do a touch better with good brass. ADG, Peterson.

This was some 2x fired nickel plated Winchester brass

I did have it up over 3300, but did not think it was wise with this brass. Hodgdon has data for a 140 swift Aframe. I started there and worked up a couple grains under their max

I shoot retumbo out of mine. I built it around the matrix 165 quite a while ago before the 170 existed. I did a 1-9 twist. I now shoot the Berger 170 and it shoots fine at my elevation. I'm shooting 3050 with mine as well.

No to be honest this was my first time messing with 270wsm at all, it is my father in laws rifle.

Tried H1000, Retumbo, H4831sc

I’d factory Eldx, if I wasn’t reloading. Or federal fusion I’ve read a lot of people say good things about that in 270wsm
