Now that the season is winding down out here and the ammo shortage may loosen up before the next I'm looking to do some ammo testing, I'm a simple man and would like to find a single do it all factory load that shoots well in my gun. Gun is a 270 win, 22" 1:10. Critters will be antelope, deer, and elk. 400 yards is an ambitious max and I'm more likely to be taking shots close in than far out.

Obviously there's a ton out there, looking to narrow down to a handful to test. Concerns are things blowing up at short range or if I blow it and hit heavy bone. Also that antelope and elk are opposite design directions. Thinking of 130 monos, 140 accubonds, 150 partitions. Missing anything?

Edit: thinking I'll also try trophy bonded tips or ascents.

I'm partial to the 140gr AccuBond. I handload but I believe Federal and others load it in factory fodder. You can't go wrong with a partition either though.

Al three of the choices you listed are great for your intended purpose. I would pick the one that shoots the best.

I folded this year's Washington bull with a 150lrab in 270win. Killed a bunch of deer and bears with 130 btsp speers with 100% success.

150 LRAB was the only bullet I could find for this year's elk hike. Didn't get a chance to try them out on game though. (I also had to pay $70 for a box).

Don't tell anyone but I've killed more animals with 150gr Core-Lokt than any other bullet.

I now use Accubonds in my handloads but do not recall actually killing anything with my .270 using one.

If you have trouble getting them to shoot, send me a message. I had to contact nosler to get the process down. These are a different jacket and can be difficult at times.

I think you listed 3 great options. I have one 270 that will shoot anything you put in it pretty well and one that loves 130 ttsx. I wouldn’t hesitate to carry either one after all three animals you are targeting.

The answer for me is accubonds, partitions, and lrx or ttsx. I am a heavy bullet guy, 150gr 270 projectiles are ******* brutal on elk. 150gr accubonds and partitions over max chatges of 7828ssc push 3000 fps in my guns and have downed many deer and elk with 1 shot

150gr Hornady Interbonds.
Good BC and with IMR 7977 you can get them to 2950fps if needed.
IMR-7977 60.8gr - 100% case fill2,940fps61,300 PSI
Winchester Case, Win Large Rifle Primer
That is 7mm Rem Mag power with bonded bullet = 1500lbs energy behind it at 500yds.
