I’ve got a 1965 Win Mod 70 in 264 WM still all factory. I’m hoping for some advice to streamline my load development.

I’m planning to use the following components:

Fed 215 primers
WW or Remington 1x fired factory brass

I’ve got the following powders available:
RL22
IMR 4831

Bullets are my first question, trying to decide which weight Im wanting to use? I’ve only got 25 of the 140 Nosler Partition or about 20 of the 120 ttsx. Locally the Hornady bullets are most readily available.

I’ve seen the Hornady, Nosler and Barnes manuals and it seems the IMR 4831 and RL 22 are all decent options velocity wise.

Does anyone have a combination with these components they’d be willing to share?

Tks !
Jason

Not with those components but would also recommend some 130 projectiles. Any idea what the twist rate is? I have a Sendero 264wm and it has a 9 twist. Was recommended by a few credible people to stay in the 130 or lighter range for that twist rate. Just food for thought and not saying the 140s won’t work if you have a 9 twist.

Not with the exact component either.
I do run imr4831, but a 129gr hornady interlock. If Hornady is readily available to you try those, there not expensive.
I'm a 9 twist too

Thank you for the replies. I believe it’s 1/9 as well, that’s what I’ve found online mentioned multiple times.

I’ll look into the 130 grain offerings. I’m trying to find Hornady powder charges listed, any chance either of you has the ability to post this?

I had a M70 in 264WM born in the early 80's for a bit and shot it a good amount. Berger 140 grain were the money bullet for me. If I wanted nostalgia with the rifle I'd do 140's at around 2900 fps for accuracy. If I wanted to optimize the cartridge I'd get a 7.5 twist barrel and shoot some 156 Berger bullets.
