I just purchased a 260 Remington T/C Custom Shop barrel at a Gun show. I am looking for reloading info I can get. I will be fire forming from 308 cases since I have several hundred extra on hand. What is the best bullet for a 1/8 twist for this caliber? I am considering the 130 gr range for hunting but have no idea about this new to me round.

should not be a problem necking down 308 but you should always check OAL of brass and neck thickness. not every chamber is the same and not all brass works the same. based on your other post, I assume you know a 260 doesnt go on a contender. as for bullets, 140 is typical for 1-8 twist but 130 works just fine. do not try to push loads in these guns, they are not the same as a bolt gun and you can damage the frame. if you want velocity then go lighter on the bullet.

Using 243 tends to cause donuts at the bottom of the neck, conversely necked/turned 308 works like a charm. H4350 with a 130/140 of your choice is hard to beat...

As noted above, H4350 is a darn good place to start. We are using a 127 lrx in a 1/8 260 ackley improved with great results so far

Another vote for 127gr LRX. Unfortunately had good luck with the discontinued 4451. IMR 4350 was a close second. My gun didn't like H4350

I shoot the 147ELD-M over H4831 in a .260 AI and it's a nice combo. Trying the 127LRX with H4350 this weekend. I'm in CA, so I need a mono load as well.

I’ve got a pac-nor barreled Kimber Montana that I’m running 123gr lapua scenars in at 2850fps, with H4350. Not a speed demon, but shoots incredibly well, and kills the heck out of deer. I do have some 130gr Sierra TGK and 139gr scenars to try in it during the off season.
