dont have the bee but am a fan of the 25's. have 25-06 sendaro which is a tack driver . also have a 25-08 aka 25 souper. an old 25 that fits me in se ga for deer and hogs. about same ballistics as the -06 but in a short action, tho mine is a bullberry barreled encore.

I don't have a WBY, but I love my .257 Roberts. Stupid accurate and a pleasure to shoot. One of these days I'm going to drill a buck with it.

The more I use mine the more I like it. The 257 Roy's case is actually a 375 H&H cut and necked down to fit the .25. Super fast. Super accurate and super deadly. Apparently it was Roy Weatherbys favorite caliber. He even shot Cape buffalo with it in Africa. "It can be done but it's not recommended"

Not a fan. Inefficient case pushing inefficient bullets. Yes , you can get some high bc bullets from some small custom makers but you also have to put a custom barrel on to stabilize them. Loaded ammo is ridiculously expensive and loading your own is proportionally as bad because of the brass and powder cost. Need a really long barrel if you want to actually burn the powder in the barrel and push the bullet with it . What it boils down to is a really long , expensive to shoot , short to medium range rifle . I can take my cheap to shoot , more compact , more pleasant to shoot 7mm-08 and kill everything you can with a 257 Weatherby. The Weatherby will work and work well but there are much better options if you are buying a new rifle. JMO.

Nephew was looking for something to fill the gap on his hunting rifles gave me mag action for my gunsmith build him something. Long story cut short I had a 257Wby build using 1/9 twist barrel and other part of the deal was I got to work loads for it. Being 9 twist wanted to shoot 115gr up to 120gr bullets got couple good loads using those bullets and he's taken couple good buck with it. My newest build is the 270Wby that's another good one and I think 7Wby may be in the future. Sounds like you got a good one also well good luck

I love mine, it's fun, flat shooting and hits hard.

Factory ammo prices are dumb so I started reloading and never looked back.

I have a jack of all trades 30-06, I just wanted a flatter shooting gun for coues hunts.

I have zero regrets, love it!

i have one. it has killed 7 mulies. 100% they just died on their feet. just crumpled over, no watching it run and die. 200-400 yard kills. i actually channeled Roy and took it elk hunting. never shot it at an elk. long story, i dont want to talk about.
now having said that..i dont shoot it anymore. bullets are stupid expensive. i tried reloading for it, but i got much slower velocities..i called a powder tech and he told me (truth? dunno) that weatherby has a proprietary powder formula that gets fast results..no way for me to do the same safely. buying the ammo loaded with a partition bullet was getting expensive, and i was having a hard time finding it local. it isnt my most accurate rifle either. 1" at 100 IIRC..my cheap beat up 30.06 is much more accurate.

i just need to go back to texas to get it out of my brother's gun safe. i am going to sell it. i just dont rifle hunt much anymore..i could get by in life with just one rifle. i'll keep my 30.06..and probably start thinning the herd. haha..i just love archery stuff much more.

I had one but didn't like the longer range performance in windy conditions. Rebarreled to a fast twist 7mm Remington and much happier.

I was going to get one, but decided on the 25-06. I couldn't afford the Roy. It's a tack driver and I've taken deer at 400 yards with no problem.

The 257wby in the ultralight variety is on a very short list that I have been considering for a sheep gun...
