What was the point of the Hornady 25 creedmoor release? Great they got SAAMI but then to they had their marketing blitz to announce they have ammo? And really no factory rifle support. And now crickets. Just a weird strategy, maybe they felt they needed to do something when they got SAAMI approved. Seems like the PRCs had much more fanfare. Maybe Im just being impatient but this would make the perfect youth rifle I've been looking for but I need a lefty and not looking to spend for a custom rifle

I assume the point was to inform people that it’s now saami and they can buy factory Ammo?

Who makes rifles in it is probably out of their control. Probably similar with the 22 creedmoor release.

Hell, 6 creed has been out for a long time and it’s still limited in factory rifle offerings.

More than likely, the lack of structure to this release has to do with the niche nature of the cartridge. I gave their podcast a listen, and they’re really driving it towards the PRS guys that want to eke out a more minute balance of performance factors between the 6/6.5 creeds. While still a viable cartridge for many things, it’s too darn close to the other creeds for many to desire switching, at least in a hunting context.

.250 Savage AI has been around for 100 years and can do the same thing, but it doesn't have the cool Creedmoor name and lacks a marketing department to drive sales.

The point is it’s now a SAAMI approved cartridge with good factory ammo available.

Rifles will come around same as 22CM and 6CM eventually.

Same for the 257 Roberts designed way back in the 1920s. The original cartridges are way under appreciated. Hornady will release a ballistic twin of every cartridge to suck money out of consumers. The public keeps eating it up. I’m more anti Hornady than most and still have a couple different creedmoors and two different PRCs, so I will have to admit it is an easy way for folks to get into fast twist rifles, but it still makes me feel a little gross shooting them. *chuckle*

They are just offering what people were already going through the trouble to wildcat and have done in custom chamberings themselves. But by all means, lets dump on them for making it easier on people to get what they want.

But they are robbing your heirs of the joys of inheriting a safe full of rifles in obscure cartridges and wildcats that are hard to sell and impossible to buy ammo for. No thanks, little buggers get to pay for every time they woke me up in the middle of the night.

Don't get me wrong I've owned several 25-06s and love them. Would love a fast twist one, what's to say a fast twist couldn't become the norm.for 25-06 like seems to be happening with 243? Anyways 25 cm would be the easy button for a kid gun, might have to settle for a 6.5cm
