That is 3450fps MV with the 92HH. I loaded the 90AH at 3200fps in my 18” 25CM, but haven’t killed anything with that one yet.

I have used a 25/06 on Elk and Moose hunts with good success.
On one hunt in 1980, which was a solo late season hunt, I shot and killed a Bull Moose at 200+ yards . Broadside
I used a single, 120 grain Nosler Partition and this bullet cemented my belief in this bullet and newly acquired model 700 rifle. Since I have not seen a N.P. bullet failure- textbook results

Maybe dated info but I had my wife a 250AI built for her graduation present in 2010 based on Steve Timm's recommendation. He had his wife set up with one for a very long time and she killed way more stuff with it than I ever would. He said she mostly shot the blue meanies she called them. 100gr NBT. That's all I've ever loaded for my wife's rifle and while we've she's never shot a bear she's never had to shoot twice at a deer. Pretty bad little bullets for normal hunting distances.

When I was 16 years old I bought a Ruger # 1 in 25-06 with a 26 inch barrel as my one do it all rifle and proceeded to shoot the barrel out. Most of that shooting was with the Hornady 117 Inter-lock btsp. That bullet never failed to kill whatever I hit with it including cow elk. But it was a little messy sometimes. Eventually I got a chronograph and found out my load was " only" doing 3000 fps even with a 26 inch barrel. Basically a 257 Roberts . Of course I had to work up a faster load, even though 3000 fps had been working fine for years.
my first custom rifle was a 25-06. It shot 100gr nbt and 100gr Sierras amazingly well. Maybe the most accurate rifle I've had in the last 15-20 years. My uncle got a chronograph and I found out I was only shooting 3150. I messed with it and messed with it. eventually rechambering to 25-06AI. I never got the velocity I wanted and ended up rebarreling it. If I would have known then what I know now I'd have left it alone and just killed stuff with it. I still kick myself sometimes but I learn more from my screw ups than the things I get right.

Exactly. It sounds like I am in like company here. I rebarreled my 25- 06 to a wildcat 30- 8mm Magnum AI and hated it. Should have just done a new 25-06 barrel or maybe the 257 Weatherby I always wanted.
