25-06 and Retumbo

I have a couple of 25-06's that i just couldn't find good loads for 100gr+ bullets in. Tried some Retumbo, and its like magic pixie dust with 110 to 120gr bullets in both.
Nosler seems to be the only bullet manufacturer that publishes loads with Retumbo, and they nailed it.
Be curious what it would do in a fast twist 25-06AI.

I shoot 120gr Hammer HHTs over Retumbo in my 25-06 with 1:8 twist 5R barrel. Off top of my head 2900'ish fps. Thumbs up from me!

Retumbo is soooo slow I'd be curious if you could run a compressed load and still not hit pressure

Did you try 58ish grs of imr 4831? I've loaded for a lot of them and they all have shot 85-100gr pills well.

I have not tried retumbo but h4831sc and Berger 115's have been the cats meow in my 25-06

In my 25-06 AI Retumbo and the 115's were magic sauce. Lightning in a bottle. It also worked well with the 131's. I only hit pressure with the 131's but it was a pretty spicy load. 115's were going 3300 and 131's settled in at 3250

No experience with the AI version but I’ve loaded 58gr of Retumbo behind 115gr Berger VLD’s and gotten around 3150fps in two rifles. Absolute hammer of a deer and pronghorn round. Can’t say I’ve experienced a better combo for that purpose.

Imr4350 and 117 seirra game kings have been great out of my 25-06 getting 3030fps with a 24” barrel.

Got a new 25 06 on order. I'm planning on trying Speer 100gr or Barnes TTSX 100 gr. I did find some Speer deep curl 120gr. Im planning on trying. Powders I have picked.
