.243 Barrel Length For Suppressor Use. 16” or 18”?

16 with a can is pretty slick. Just ask yourself how far out you want to shoot. But most 6's and 22's will easily get you out to 600.

SBRs are pretty awesome. I've got three but all ar-15 variants. A bolt gun would be fun once it's legally easier ti build one.

Rokslide may have convinced me!

99% of my shots in PA/WV are sub 150 yards, but I like the idea of using this gun out west as well. I spend way less time at the range than I should, so anything past 400 may be safe.

I am currently shooting 95 grain ballistic tips, and may switch to Winchesters SilverTip, or perhaps an ELD when they run dry.

Just know transporting an SBR interstate requires notification to the ATF, but notice is not required for suppressors.

Sticking with 16” is an easy choice.

I like 18”. Suppressors now run 4-5” and not 8-9.” I also shoot a Blaser r8 which is naturally 3-4” shorter than a standard bolt action rifle.
