Have a chance to buy a slightly used all black mmr frame with medium belt. I'm 6'4" 250. 40" waist but losing weight... Is this too small for me?
I know recommended on kifarus site says 26" and large belt for 39"+

Too small on height unless you have 36"+ inseam. Medium belt could work if you got down to 38" waist, but a marge would be preferred. Since it is coming with about $60 worth of accessories I guess $265 shipped isn't a terrible deal, but I think you would be better off getting a new UL frame and adding stays when you can afford it.

Inseam is 36" hmmm... Looks like you see the same item. Looks used more than 2 hikes eh?
Thanks for the response.

Yeah, don't see how a 4+ year old frame could only be used twice and have a tear. At a 36" inseam it will be personal preference, but I think you would prefer a 26" frame. It would be best to measure your torso to make sure. Switching to a new belt would end up costing you about $40 if you sold the old one to cover some of the cost.

Hey guys, I grabbed the frame in question off eBay... Will be my first Kifaru frame. I'm 5'8" and 32/33" waist so should be compatible. Can you guys provide any more info on the frame? Gen I or Gen II? From my research; it should be compatible with any Kifaru bag. I'm starting with an AG1 that one of the guys on here was selling and may grab an MMR as well. I'm military and will be using AG1 for loadouts with commo gear when I don't need to carry a larger ruck; 5000+ CI. Currently using a Tac Tailor MALICE V3 for big loads; as I'm attached to the pocket configuration.

You will probably bottom out a medium belt, so you may end up trading for a small or smedium eventually. I am no expert on the older Kifaru stuff, but looks to be a G2 to me based on the lumbar pad however it still has the 2 delta strap belt (don't over-tighten). All Kifaru bags should fit on all Kifaru frames with at most a cut or two needing to be made in the Kydex. Some bags will fit better on the 24" and some better on the 26", but they should all work. Because of this things won't always line up perfectly and this is where new Kifaru users tend to freak out.

For those that didn't see it, here is the item page: Kifaru MMR Duplex frame 24 inch black RARE

Thanks for the additional info... I found a 2011 Kifaru Military catalog and that has shed some light as well. I was thinking the same regarding the waist belt; I guess we will see when I get it all assembled.

Alright guys,
This is my first Kifaru set-up; watched an instructional video on how to mount this AG1 or similar to the MMR frame. Just want to confirm I have this thing set-up correctly before I do a test load...

The bag's bottom compression strap female buckle just remains unused? Also, the bag does not attach to frame near the top compression strap?

Is the bottom of the pack supposed to attach with the metal tri-glides attaching to the plastic fixed loops on the frame?

I appreciate guidance here. I'll be posting a review on Kifaru.net in the tactical forum. I'll be evaluating the AG1/MMR frame as a communications/sustainment platform for military use.

Yes, the tri-glides (aka 3-bar sliders) on the pack go through the plastic common loops there on the bottom of the frame, but not absolutely necessary for proper fit and function. Also, on some packs there are some about 8" up on the pack and frame as well. Don't know if the AG1 has them.

Thanks COlineman,
Do you happen to know the purpose of the lower female compression strap buckles on the AG1 then? Perhaps it was designed that way for a different version of the MMR frame that didn't have female buckles attached to the frame?

If I had to guess it would either be for the cargo chair or 'piggybacking' a daypack or some old accessory I don't know about. I would ask over on the Kifaru forums as there are more guys on there that know about the older tactical packs.
