Can someone post a picture of a 24" barrel with a silencerco omega with the ASR mounting but without the anchor brake (just flat front cap)? I'm curious as to how long it will be? I really want a shorter barrel but already have a 24" 7RM and the Omega is currently waiting for tax stamp. Thanks for the help.

24 +7=31
I have a 24" barrel on one rifle and it's stupid with a 7" suppressor on the end.
I personally won't run a suppressor on a barrel over 20"

23” barrel (has the Omega brake on). Too long for my preference.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to share, I can do the math, but picture helps a lot with scale. Especially next to the cow. It’s really long. I guess I need to figure something else out for my barrel length.

A few perspectives, but not great. This can is a little longer than my Omega by about 1.5", but it's on a 24" barrel. This is the only rifle I have left that's over 22".

I believe the Omega's shortest length is 6.1" (direct thread flat end cap)? This can is about 7.6". Hope that helps.

My Omega will be living on my 280ai I'm currently having cut down.

I'll see if I can do a comparison for you.

I had that exact set up, but just cut the barrel down to 20” bc 24” +can it was way too long.

Thanks a ton for this. I’m torn on what to do after seeing some pictures. I knew it would be long, but the picture on the pack is pretty eye opening

I lumped a 26" barreled rifle with 2" muzzle brake in Montana mountains last September...way too long for my liking.

I think it really just depends upon what type of hunting you plan on doing. If plains hunting, I don't see it as a problem. If in the woods, can be an issue.

-24” with omega direct thread but with the
brake so the same length.
-18” with a Sandman S (my go to rifle)
-18” with a MG7
-16.5” with a Gascan (Omega direct thread flat cap)9B85F176-BB25-4395-8F03-378624EF208A.jpeg

I’d be more worried about balance with the long barrel and a 14oz can. More so than overall length.

Very dependent on area. I can make more length work, but when the rifle is that front heavy it makes carrying and shooting it more of a chore.

Here's your comparison. Both long actions. Green stock is 22" barrel with Omega (6.25" shortest config). Wood stock is 24" with 7.75" can.

@BjornF16 yes sir! Thank you again! I don’t think I’ll be looking for another 24” barrel but if I’m going to be hunting out in the open somewhere, that is the rifle I will take.

I checked with my local gun smith. Only 150 bucks to cut 24" bbl down to 20" and thread. Probably be getting my R700 done soon.

Thanks, that’s helpful and interesting. I’d be surprised if they could keep 5/8-24 on mine If cut down. Don’t suppose it would matter to go to 1/2-28 though. I also don’t know of a local smith..need to research that.

I bought QR mounts in both sizes so i could use my Omega 30 on my .17 all the way to my 300 WSM.
