Monster buck was killed in Iowa on public during gun season. 237 1/2” green NT. Different guy had trail cams on public and blabbed about the deer on social media. Guys from 4 counties found out and were after him during bow season and gun season.

The story goes that the guy that killed it heard about the deer from friends and social media and knew the area well. Hiked in 2 miles, found a big line of rubs, sat downwind of the sign, and got very lucky.

There is a good lesson in this story re: keeping your mouth shut. I would take it one step further to say this is an excellent example of why trail cams should be banned from public during the season.

Who cares about trail cameras… Congrats to the guy that killed the buck.
You live in Iowa and have the best deer hunting in the USA and you want to complain about trail cameras? People like me have to wait 5 years to draw one tag and you can kill 10 bucks in that time period , hunt all season and shoot more bucks if you are gun hunting and one of your buddies renders their buck tag to you while hunting together.
No one feels bad for Iowa hunters, especially in regards to trail cameras.
