Looking to rebarrel my tikka t3x varmit from a 1:14 t to a 1:7 to sling heavies. Gunsmith suggested 22xc, can't find case dimensions. Intended bullet weights from 69 to heaviest available. Target of said bullets, 50lb coyotes, and lesser vermin, and targets at medium to long range. So what's yalls thoughts on going with a 170 freebore 22xc vs a 22creed stock chamber, or just keep it 22-250, maybe have him long throat it for the heavier bullets.

XC would be cool. Hear people talk about the cheap 6xc brass so that’s a plus. Little less overbore than 22 creed.

22 GT has always seemed like a cool option to me too. 22-250 capacity but with a more modern case shape.

Purely for access to quality brass I would say 22creed. Especially now that lapua is not making 22-250. No experience with 22xc but you lose the option for factory ammo and have to neck down

Idk if someone just found an unsold lot of 22-250 Lapua brass or they brought it back into production but here’s some for sale. I’ve ordered from these guys before and they’re legit.

The case capacity to bore are ratio of .22 GT is identical to that of 6mm Creedmoor (and effectively matches those for .270 Win and .280 AI).

.22 Creedmoor is a real magnum -- with associated costs in barrel life and propellant efficiency.
