I was at Walmart in anchorage once and the dude at the gun counter sold a 22/45 to a guy telling him he could “just switch out the barrel” and shoot 45.

I use and am very happy with the Ruger 22/45 (mark III or IV). If you go with this option, pay attention to the trigger. Mine were very heavy. You would probably want to smooth them out a bit.

We have two of these. I think they’re about $270 too. Great plinking gun.
