Have a Winchester model 70 in 225 Winchester. Not sure of the year but they were only made form 64 to 71. Have about 60 rounds of brass and maybe 80 rounds of factory ammo. Got it used a long time ago and haven't messed with yet. Reloading dies can still be had and maybe find brass. Question is... Would it be better to change it to a more modern round (22 Creedmore) or something else. What all would have to be done.

Thanks Chris, If its still factory it will be 1in14. So yes thats going to be way to slow. I guess I need to decide how heavy bullet I want to use. It looks like 1 in 8 to 1 in 10. Was hoping to not have to rebarrel.

Might be able to punch it out to a 22-250 and shoot varmint loads if you really wanted to save the barrel.

NIB Lapua brass can be found for it on forums. I picked some up not long ago here.

You have a factory 225 Winchester in a m70.

You could trade the for a room full of rifles.

as long as it is in good shape.

Worth at least $1500 in good shape.

A pre-64 is probably worth another $2000.
