Looking to see what you guys are shooting prairie dogs with? I have a 223 and don't want to use 73gr eldm or my 77tmk's on them. I have 50 ct box of 55gr hornady vmax but even those are a bit pricey. Let me know what you all use?

Woodchucks, not prairie dogs, but Fiocci xtrema 50gr. Vmax is pretty reasonably priced.

What 223 do you have? The 69’s shoot really well in my RAR’s but not so much in my Tikka.
@wind gypsy says the 55 blitz kings are really accurate in his Tikka.

May want to try the 55’s. Especially for varmints. The 69’s definitely didn’t agree with mine. Sample of one.

ADI 55 sbk shot good in my factory tube. The new ACE tube likes the 69s too. The old Australian outback branded ADI 55 sbk really hammered.

I have not priced the 55vmax stuff in years but when I was shooting that stuff it was a hammer. Killed lots of management deer with it as well.

The ADI stuff gets tons of great reviews it seems.
I have a box of the 55 gr vmax I got for a gift. Haven't shot them yet. I've seen it $55-60 for a box of 50 so kind of expensive.

After I shoot up the 200 rds of adi stuff maybe I'll just reload a varmint bullet. It'll probably be the cheapest route.

That’s pretty much what I have been doing.

The brass is good and the primers are not crimped.

62 eldvt is a neat bullet to shoot for prairie dogs once those are shot up.

If you load your own it’s pretty cheap to make ammo with Starline brass.

I have 400 pieces of new Norma brass that I'd like to keep for the 77tmk. I also have all the spent brass from 73 eldm factory loads. I've heard Hornady brass sucks so maybe I'll load up some varmint bullets with those and see how they work.
