In the past, my reloading for 223 was loaded to be as cheap as possible while still being legal at my local range (no FMJ).
- As long as my ammo function in my range toy AR’s, I was happy.
- factory ammo was used for self defense.
Recently, I bought a Tikka 223 to try to test what all the fuss was over using bullets like the 77g TMK. Looking at the load data, I found published max loads with MV’s as low as in the 2,500fps range.
Hodgson says I should get close to 2,800fps with powders I have and can easily replace: BL-C(2), CFE 223, and TAC.
After thinking about how I load 6ARC using "bolt gun data", I got to thinking about “bolt gun data” for 223 Remington. Does such a thing exist?
