Curious, am I gaining any real advantage by adding a 22CM 80’s, when I am already shooting a 223 77TMK’s under 300 yards?

Chasing Texas whitetail and hogs. Under 300 yards with TBAC5 on a 18” 223 barrel.

I “want” the 22CM and can rebarrel an existing rifle for $850 ish but, am I really seeing a benefit? I understand the wind benefit at distance for the 22CM. Is the wind benefit there at 300 and does it create a larger wound channel than a 77TMK?

Is there an upside under 300 yards or should I spend the $’on more 223 ammo.

I have a donor rifle and scope sitting looking for something to do. However, I will only be shooting factory ammo.

Under 300 yards you already have the right bullet. I swap out my 223 for the 22 CM when the planned kill yardages are beyond 450ish yards. If I knew I'm going to solely hunt inside of 300 I'd take a 223 shooting 77 TMKs all day.

This. Buy more ammo.

If I spent anything it would be to SBR a rifle and run a 12-14” barreled .223.

Velocity is high enough you don’t really gain much unless it’s super windy and you are shooting small targets.
