I'm at sea level....or buy a .22 ARC, which does well in short barrels and will gain hugely from 80k ammo.
I have to pay the piper with powder.

I dunno, I shot a whitetail at 7 yards last November with an 88 ELD m, was less traumatic than I expected (for both me AND the deer).A creed at close range is going to turn a deer into jello.....so keep that in mind.

It also just has that fun factor to it so easy to shoot.22 creed won’t offer you any more than what you have. Even though 22 creed is low recoil, it’s more than a 223. As someone who lived in NC for years, if I were only hunting in NC, I’d only use a 16” 223 with a suppressor.
@TBoschma is shooting a high pressure version of the 223 77 TMK from badlands. He’s getting some good velocities and groups. I plan to check them out. If they are the truth, there’s really no need for a 22 creed unless you want it.
Yeah. A properly set up 223 with a suppressor doesn’t make you want to shoot anything else. At least that’s my takeIt also just has that fun factor to it so easy to shoot.
The 22CM is great, but your 223 can easily do 300 yds, especially if you reload. My 223 with the 88TMK and my 22CM with the same are only .2 mils apart at 300 y.I have been watching videos and reading up on the 22 Creedmoor. I am a disabled vet (titanium rod for a neck, torn shoulders, and chronic headaches) and recoil is getting harder and harder to handle. I hunt suppressed and have recently added one of the suppressor muzzle brakes to help out even more. I mainly whitetail hunt in NC where 22 centerfire is legal for deer hunting. I currently hunt with a 7mm-08 and 5.56.
Why should I get one for deer hunting?
Why shouldn't I get one for deer hunting?

That helps a lot. I still have my 308 and love shooting my 7mm-08. I just bought one of the muzzle brake endcaps for my suppressor to help as well. I am with you on the rifle fit. I have lighter rifles that are just more comfortable to shoot and heavier rifles that feel like I take more recoil. I built a 308 on the heavy side with a custom stock that I can fit. It seems like it has more recoil than a 280 AI I own.Op, whichever way you go you may consider a bit more weight to the rifle. Also stock design and fit can play into felt recoil. Also a bit heavier optic can help. As well as a bit heavier of a suppressor.
I’m not suggesting to put together a Heavy Rifle that isn’t manageable for you to utilize, just don’t
go too light.
If you feel more comfortable in the performance of the 22 CM. go with that. Confidence is key.
It will do what you’re wanting to achieve.
The 77 TMK’s run well in the Creed & kill well for a lot of people.
I Have a 22 CM now that is an amazing rifle to shoot & hunt with. It is not Lightweight nor Heavy.
Recoil is light and straight. Fit is perfect for me, & comfortable. The more I shoot the more confident I become. I am putting this together for a reason similar to yours, I don’t like recoil or concussive blast. I shoot this rifle more relaxed than any previous one I've owned. I believe this helps in managing what little recoil it has better.
