I’ve got one, I love the gun/cartridge. I’ve just used it for slapping steel and shooting long range ground squirrels. Curious to hear from guys who deer hunt with theirs and the results. I know it is more than capable of killing deer, probably on par with the 243. But telling anyone you hunt big game with a .224 is like trying to talk politics in a bar.

Been many a deer taken with a 223 or 22-250. Bullet choice would be crucial.

You can’t compare the old .224 rifles (223, 22-250 and so on to today’s 22 creeds that are more designed to run high weight, high BC bullets. The 22 creeds are an awesome round. Varmint, PRS, deer and hog. Not a terrible choice with the correct set up.

What’s the difference between running a 22 creed and a 243 with 90 grain bullets for hunting? The 243 has been considered a deer cartridge for half a century. No reason the 22 creed can’t be since it’s launching practically the same weight projectiles.
