I mostly want to use it for deer and hogs over a hay field. A 450 yard shot is about max possibility for most of our hay fields if you split them in half. (I am not that competent of a shooter yet but am working to be!)

My #1 focus is accuracy with a #2 of follow ups for hogs. (That is where the AR build comes in.) Otherwise I will simply rebarrel a Savage model 12 with a shot out 22-250 barrel.

How consistent is your barrel? If I can keep a 1.25" or better with an 8 to 12 shot string, I would be happy with building an AR. My AR experience is limited and I am not fully aware of the consistency and accuracy of them.

Are your builds consistently accurate? Or do the tent to be nice and tight on a 3 round group and open up on the next group?

Are you shooting factory ammunition? My Satern Liberty barrel likes the 62 eldvt. The 75 grain and 88’s I can not speak to because I don’t have the data. It doesn’t shoot them as well as the 62’s.

There is a 22 ARC Facebook group that has more data on the heavy for caliber ammunition. I would ask that FB group. If you are shooting deer and hogs I would suggest the 75 grain, 80 grain ELDX, or 88 grain ELDM for factory ammunition. The eldx and ELDM’s just plain kill animals so it’s a great option for deer.

I am not a reloader. I am a fan of the 88gr eldm as it is heavy for caliber and the eldm does so well. That is my real focus. Every hunt is a coyote hunt but in TX, it is hot and hides are not great. I am more concerned with bettering the deer by killing coyotes and I believe the 88gr will do just fine with that too!

I'm currently selling a 223 Wylde SPR upper to fund an 18" Uintah Precision 22ARC upper. I've read good things about UP so I'm hoping it works out well.

Anyone know much about or have an opinion on Rise Armament uppers? I'm considering one of their complete uppers in 22 ARC but I know nothing about them. Are they good, bad, ehh just ok at best, a total POS or ?????

Would appreciate any and all info on these y'all would be willing to share.

I hope to have info in 2 to 4 weeks. (Provided the parts get here as USPS is taking their time. Some parts were supposed to arrive on the 12th but they have yet to scan at a Texas location!)

I went the route of building my own upper. Opted for a side charging upper, Ballistic Advantage barrel and a CMT Tactical 17" handguard that has full length built in Arca rail!

I have heard everything from 3" groups to sub 1" groups from people on the Rise Armament uppers. I figured I could do that good/bad myself and atleast get the structure and parts I wanted for the same price or cheaper.

Once the parts get in and everything gets assembled, I will update here.
