What do you guys like for a 22 caliber AR clone? ....search turned up Nothing

I took my niece and nephew out shooting pistols last weekend and he shows up with this brand new GSG 22 caliber AR replica. That thing was fun as heck to shoot. It was pretty quiet though maybe it’s because I’m used to shooting center fire.He had a cheap $30 red dot on that thing that worked pretty good.

It’s all polymer frame which I’m not too wild about. In controlled fire it was fine but when you try to rapidfire the bolt couldn’t keep up it would jam. Is there any of these that will function without jamming?

So if I was going to pick one of these up what should I get? Intended use would be planking with probably a max 100 yard range.

Oh....and of course I wanna kill elk with it at 600 yards- grin

Following. I want to get a fun gun and throw a cheap aluminum F1 can on it.
I have been eyeballing the SW MP15-22 but it’s not an actual clone.

I’ve shot both the smith and Wesson MP22 and hk. I purchased the hk.

Happy with my smith. As far as 22 goes, it is honestly not my favorite plinker. I prefer my 10/22 and a Henry lever.

Ya, shot a friend's M&P. It was pretty cool. I just bought a Ruger Mk I to play with.

FWIW....I'm just looking for a fun, accurate semi auto .22 that has less problems with jamming

My SW .22 semi auto pistol jams a lot where the Buckmarks don't......

Its a PITA as I try to convert a lot of folks that have never shot before and those jams screw up the experience.

I don't know how accurate that GSG is....we were only shooting 50 yds and in at my 8" steel plates....its at least that good.

Found this one in town yesterday.

Gonna do a similar thing with a modern suppressor and red dot.

Zero misfires with mine and it’s eaten Federal, Blazer, Winchester and CCI’s with ease.

I feel your frustration with your pistol, I had the SIG Mosquito 22 and that thing was awful.

If you already have an AR rifle chambered for .223/5.56 the CCMG bolt conversion kit works well.
CCMG 22 kit

Otherwise I’d say it’s hard to beat the M&P 15-22

Our Scheels has the pistol version and I thought hard about it, but really want a suppressed Ruger MK something.

Thought about that, too. Not willing to run a bunch of nasty rimfire ammo through my rifles.

Hear they run good though.

I’ve shot my neighbors AR-22 a bit with the kids. PSA had a solid deal on them some time ago. I like it ok, but still haven’t bought one... the mags aren’t cheap and a 10/22 isn’t a bad option. I’ve got a Charger 10/22 takedown pistol I got for the boys... with a brace and red dot it’s pretty similar but easier to load and interchangeable magazines with our other 22s.
