Still haven’t fired it yet. I got a bunch of new old stock 257rob and 6mm brass from the classifieds here. Both rem and win
24” PBB barrel 7.5 twist, fluted and chambered by Kampfield
Please make a thread about your progress. The x57 case seems like a really good fit for a tikka. Like bridging the gap between the 6CM and 6UM/PRC/284.

I built a vanilla 22-6mm a couple years back. I kinda lost interest in it because every time I shot a deer the bullet surface detonated and I had to shoot them again in the head. I sold it to a buddy and he slowed it way down and it works fine now. I was running 75 ELD-Ms at 3700.
If I had to try another bullet in that rifle, it would be the 70 grain Berger or 70 Accubond. My friend has a 220AI and he kills deer with the 70 Berger with amazing results.

It breaks my heart to see that bob brass get smashed down.... it took me 2 years to find brass for my bob. Brass for the mauser base cartridges is not easy to source. There has been a run this year through....so if you are going to do it, buy the brass RIGHT NOW.
