Anyone play with this?

I saw it mentioned in the 22 UM thread and did some digging. Looks like it should beat out the 22 Creed in the same barrel length by a little bit. An extra 100+ fps or so.

Dies are readily available and 284 brass isn't hard to find.

Standard bolt face too in a short action.

Could be a way to get some extra juice from a 16-18" pipe with heavier 22 cals.

Seems pretty interesting

Get a good can or some good hearing protection, you are gonna need it, LOL

Would basically be a .473 bolt face 22-6.5 PRC or a 22-06. And yes, should beat the crap out of a 6.5 CM. Without looking up powder capacity, it would probably even outdo a 220 Swift.

Google "22 saw". Pretty good option

Not sure how accurate Grok is. Just using it as a ball park.
lol love the warning about barrel and throat life... Grok. If I was worried about that I wouldn't love my 6 UM

The SAW is very similar in capacity to the 22-243 Improved. There's quite a bit of info on that to go off of.
I researched the 22-284 a while back. My conclusion at the time was that it sounded like a pain to deal with in terms of getting bullets to go fast, shoot well, and not blow up. Maybe the 95 SMK or new 88 TMK would help resolve that issue.
