Hey I’m looking to buy a coyote gun in a 22-250. Most shots will be 200-350 yards but would like to shoot steel out to 500 or so. I don’t plan on starting to load my own rounds for quite awhile so it will shoot factory ammo for several years. I’ve had my eye on the savage 110 varmint or a bergara b14 sierra wilderness but I’m not so sure about the short barrel and faster twist with the bergara. What are everyone’s suggestions?

I've killed hundreds of coyotes with the 50 and 55 grain V Max's but if I was buying a 22-250 and wanted to both kill coyotes and regularly ring steel at yardages around 500 I'd go with a different bullet. It's certainly do-able with the VMAX bullets, but taking advantage of the heavier bullets is really fun and devastating on coyotes out past 1,000 yards.

Copper Creek will load you up SAAMI spec "factory" ammo for the 22-250 using 62 ELDVT, 80 ELDM, and 80 ELDX. A factory Tikka 8 twist barrel 22-250 will stabilize all of those bullets no issues.

The ammo will be about $20 more per box than the Superformance 22-250 50 grain VMAX. In my opinion it is well worth it.

While you're at it, I would recommend cutting the barrel back to 20" and threading for a suppressor and getting a "Rokstok" for it once orders for those are turned back on.

A while back I picked up a browning xbolt speed sr in 22-250 with a 9tw 18” barrel. It shoots the varmint express 55gr vmax very well.

I would look for a 1-8 twist or build one. I have a 1-14 weatherby vanguard heavy barrel varmint and love it but 55 gr is the heaviest I can stabilize. The new eld-vt would be awesome for coyotes and pretty good for targets.
