Curious if anyone else has had an issue reloading these? I’ve since got my hands on some 215 Berger’s which shoot .3 Moa in my rifle so I’m no longer looking to use the 210’s but am still curious why I couldn’t get them to shoot.

I tried 6 different charges at 4 different seating depths between .070-.125 off and couldn’t get anything to shoot less than 2ish MOA. I know there are folks out there that use them successfully but I just couldn’t make them work. What was the secret?

I'm interested in this as well as I am getting into reloading, love the AB/ABLR and have managed to accumulate about 350 of the .308 210gr for two 300 PRCs I plan to load for. I have heard they can be tougher to get to shoot but have heard mixed info on distance from the lands where any luck was found. I also have 250 of the 215gr hybrids and 100 212gr ELD-X which in the factory HPH shoot well under MOA but I have not liked the terminal performance at mid and long range. I would take a little less accuracy from the ABLR just to have them over the ELD-X, but would still need them to shoot under 1MOA.

No one successfully running the 210’s? There’s gotta be someone out there who knows the secret…

I have been using the 190 grain ablr with good luck. I have some 210 but i have not started any load development with them. I only have 100 of them so I dont want to start load development until i get more. I would hate to get a load I really like and not have a good stick of bullets.

How deep were you seating the 190’s? Everything I’ve read is these things are super picky with seating depth

I think i would jump the same with the 210. Im my experience the long range accubonds dont like as much jump as the regular accubonds. I tested the 190 load with more jump and it was not as good. The .032” gets me 1/2 moa

I’ll have to go back and check but I think the longest I loaded them was .050 jump. Maybe I’ll try something a little longer and see how it likes that. The rifle loves the 215’s but I’ve only got 150 or so left so it’d be nice to have something on standby

I'm loading the 210 ABLR's in my 30 Nos, if i recall i'm seating .010 off the lands and getting .75 or better groups. I can check my notes tomorrow. You didn't mention your cartridge ??

It appears that I’ve been loading them with way too big of a jump lol…definitely makes me re-think this whole thing since the 210’s were my first choice but I just couldn’t get them to shoot

Just be aware that when you push that bullet closer to the lands you will likely see increased pressure, if your already running a bit on the hotter side pay attention to the signs .......

My typical method is to seat my bullets @ .010 off, then work my powder charges up until i find pressure and back off a bit. At that point i can play with seating depth and fine tune, by starting long it leaves me only one direction to go (typically) and not worry about pressure increases. Right or wrong it's just my way ......

No that completely makes sense. I started short because what I’d read on other forums were saying the ABLR’s like a longer jump. Now that I’m getting this info, I’d likely start over completely new with lighter powder changes and work my way up and see where that gets me. I appreciate the advice though!

Report back with your findings, i'd be interested to know where you end up ......

I’ve shot various ABLRs in a variety of firearms and have never gotten anything consistent from them. Best I’ve consistently seen was 1.5 MOA. I have a custom 6.5 PRC that I tried them in that will shoot 156gr Berger’s lights out (.25-.3MOA(that’s great for me for hunting)) but I couldn’t get any better than 1.5 MOA. That was with the 150gr 6.5mm. I actually tried them one day and got .3-.4 MOA so loaded some more to double check and shot them the next day and it was back to 1.5 MOA. I’ve tried the 210s, the 190s (in 3 different rifles), the 150gr 6.5mm, and the 129gr 6.5mm and nothing has shot good. I have shot a deer with them and my dad shot a deer with them as well and they perform phenomenally well on game but they just don’t have the accuracy that I would like to see.

My experience too. I tried with various .284 and .308 rifles. Couldn't get anything to perform like the standard AB.

IME the standard AB works great at long range, performs well, and is easy to load for. I can't justify the time and expense to screw around with LR version.

Aa few of my friends have had the same results.
