205 Berger 300 WSM vs 215 Berger 300 prc

I own both guns

300 wsm runs 205 Berger @ 2860 2825

am I going to gain much with the 300 prc and 215 Berger or should I step up to 245 ?

Looks like you have 2000fps out to 700 with the WSM. Are you shooting at game farther than that? I have a 300wsm shooting the same bullet at 2950 with H4350, which gets me to 800yds.

You kind of get into the point of diminishing returns with the 245’s/250’s out of the PRC. I personally would stick with the 225/230 class bullets in the PRC case, it keeps recoil manageable too. Don’t overlook the 230 Berger Hybrid Target, it’s an excellent hunting bullet from personal experience. The 225 ELDM is as well

No not really

Just have the prc sitting here lol

I have push it faster in the wsm but it shoots amazing

Well if it’s just sitting there, the 215 is a great bullet for the PRC. It’s actually my favorite 30cal bullet made. I use it my my RUM and it flattens elk.

+1 for the 225 ELD-M. That bullet flat kills critters in my experience. I’d also agree with Tumbleweed that the 245/250 class is a bit much for the 300 PRC. Doable? Absolutely, but I’d say you’re better suited with a slightly lighter bullet going a fair amount faster. The BC on the 225 is still pretty dang good, too.

The 215 is hard to beat. They shoot good and are deadly on game.
