I know this has been covered in years past, I just wanted to see if there were better options. SG Grumman or Kuiu Super Down Pro?

Normal Criteria:
Warmth
Weight
DWR shell
Treated down

I'll be using on a Sept. Sheep, Moose, Caribou hunt in the McKenzies this year but Sept. Moose, October Goat, and deer in future years as well as Late season Elk and Deer.

I love my Kuiu SDP. The LT version is awesome as well depending on your needs and how you’re layering. SG stuff seems to not fit me as well but it’s quality as well.

The LT may be best for me actually. I'll have an outer layer and it may be more packable.

For packability and warmth:weight, the LT can’t be beat IMO.
Really?

The Grumman has something like twice the amount of down in it for literally only the difference in weight of the down. It's been a while since I've had the LT in hand but just looking at the specs I don't see a scenario in which the LT has a better warmth:weight?

LT is half as warm as the SDP/Grumman. In this scenario you decide how much warmth you need and deal with whatever the weight may be.

SDP goes everywhere I go, Grumman is possibly better but doesn't fit as well for me.

The jackets you listed are 5 oz or so fill down jackets. They both work well but are as low of fill as I would go and for the current hunt and future hunts you describe I would look for a higher fill weight jacket. 8-9 oz fill would be much better.

If I remember right 5 oz fill with a base layer and grid fleece mid layer gets you to 45 degrees to be comfortable when stationary for hours.

Some people choose two jackets and some like one higher fill jacket. Outdoor Vitals Vantage Alpine has over 7 oz of fill in a medium and they add a little as sizes increase.
