2026 - Powder Availability and Pricing

Availability of hodgdon and Viht has been pretty solid for a while. It's been a number of years since RL26 had regular availability.

We have decent availability around the Bozeman area but pricing is all over the place. Anywhere from $55/lb to $90/lb depending on what store you go to. Primers are still around 9 to $10 per 100. Bullets are hit and miss. If you like hornady it seems fine but everything else local is up and down. Factory ammo has shot up again from what I’ve seen here as of late. 280 ai accubonds in factory at Murdochs 3 months ago were $68/box. Seen the other day when I was there they are now $90.

Is there an actual U.S. manufacturer (not packager) of powder?
To my (limited) understanding, offshore manufactured powders are subject to current tariffs on imported good by the U.S. federal government.

Powder price depends on where made out of country or in USA. Here our Bi-mart has best price around $40 lb. Cabela's $50 - $80. Was at hardware store they had Unique at $94 lb. Primers are anywhere from $5.99 - $16 per/100. I've been lucky finding peeps getting out of reloading or estate sale most just want to get rid of the stuff. Last one got 16 cans powder and ammo box primers, bullets, brass for price of about 4 lbs powder
