I am heading that way for a fall bear hunt. First bear tag I’ve drawn but have seen flyfishing and exploring POW for the past decade. I usually ferry over but have bush plane dropping us off far away from the road system. If I’m lucky, I’ll need to have the skull/ hide sealed in Ketchikan. Does anyone have someone recommend? I know there is a respected person in Thorne Bay but won’t be able to go through there. Happy to share flyfishing information with anyone, that’s about all I can contribute on the knowledge end.

We passed on a couple small bears. And a couple big ones gave us the slip the last couple days.

Overall great trip

Highly recommend Mike Warner with Coffman Cove adventures. High quality people and they feed you insanely well.

My Brother killed a slob day one in the very first grassy patch we put eyes on.

Has been a grind since to lay eyes on a bear, got 1 1/2 more days to get it done! Wish me luck!

Getting smoked salmon chowder at The Alaska Fish House in Ketchikan would be a top priority for me.

Any B&C animal is pretty rare ! Pretty cool aniamls when they get that big/old
