I guess. I get cabin fever and being excited to get outside again. First couple years I shed hunted I began around St. Patrick's Day having come from Ohio where most whitetail drop by that time but never found any elk sheds until April and saw most bulls packing well into April, smaller bulls into LATE April. Sure, I saw a few guys packing antlers out in March, but I would rather wait for the majority to drop so now I usually wait until about ~April 15, even if it means I'm not the first in there, o well. I have friends that have picked up elk sheds in early February but they had a lot more time dedicated to glassing bulls from a distance nightly and waiting for them to drop and then going after them. I much prefer the surprise rather than keeping tabs on bulls until the moment they drop, but to each their own.
