2025 Turkey harvest pics

The boy did good! Scored on this beast of a Rio tom over the youth opener here in Texas. Ole thunder chicken came charging in and met his match!

South Carolina public land mountain bird this morning.

It was quite the hunt. As light was breaking, a bobcat, 20 inches or taller, walked within 15 feet of me. I bleated at it with my mouth and the joker just looked at me, I thought I was gonna have to waste one of my TSS loads on it. Haha. That that guy was so big I heard it coming in, and it rained last night.

I heard this bird a half mile away, down in a bottom, while perched up on a mountain. Heading down toward It. I wasn’t positive it it was on public, thankfully it was.

I got to watch it strut and come toward my decoy for almost 100 yards. It was dancing and preening, dragging its feathers and drumming all the way in, it was a straight up epic display.

Really the whole morning was EPIC, that’s a pretty good word to describe it. I’m thankful!!
Congrats on a tough bird. That rain and cooler weather had them moving this morning. Saw several strutters on the way to work. Gonna hunt the NC opener Saturday. Hope this weather holds out.

I hunted the NC opener with my youngest this AM. They didn’t gobble much but I finally got this one away from some hens and he dumped him at 31 yards with a load of 7 TSS out of his 20 gauge. He killed his first gobbler sitting in my lap when 20 years ago.

Got an Alabama bird, my biggest gobbler yet! Nice spurs and a 11.5” beard.

Didn't hear any gobbles early. Around 7am I made a call and he cut me off with a gobble. Followed it up with another call and he cut me off again. I got the gun ready and 10 minutes later he was dead at 30 yards.
