For the last 6-7 years I've made a goal of hiking as many miles as the year; this year the goal was 2025. Happy to report that I hit that goal today
I was thinking about changing the goal last year as I'm getting older and the goal miles increase every year, but thanks to @Marbles I've decided to keep it going.
I have to thank my little buddy Tiny Elvis who accompanied me on the lion's share of miles. He's little, but tough
My biggest month was May with 253 miles; mostly due to the Bob Marshall Open (my ninth year) and pre-scouting for the event. Highest week—83 miles. Lowest mileage day was 3 miles, highest 32. Lots of elevation gain/loss over the year, probably in the 300,000' range. Some miles on snowshoes & x-country skis, lots of miles with a backpack on. Most exotic miles—Kauai
I feel blessed that I was able to do this again and hope I can keep the streak going for next year.
