I’m in a position to put a deposit on a hunt.

Logistics included, it appears that they should be similar in cost.

Priority would be the experience/ adventure and meet for the freezer. Hence my dilemma
Help me decide.

I currently have a moose hunt booked in Newfoundland for next year and will be booking a caribou hunt in Alaska for 2026 in January. That said if I would do it again I would book caribou first. Many herds are suffering and supply of hunts is decreasing due to that however newfoundland moose hunts are defiantly starting to increase in price. A few months after I booked mine the outfitter increases prices greatly. It's really a toss up

With meat for the freezer a consideration, I'd do the NL moose hunt. More meat for the dollar and good adventure as well. A couple friends of mine drove from Wyoming to NL 2 years ago and had a great hunt.

If it were me and you are after adventure and meat, I would go the AK deer/caribou route. While moose are majestic animals, hunting them can be a little boring if the weather is warm and no moose are moving. On an AK deer/caribou hunt, you have the opportunity to see much more varied terrain, a wider range of animals (brown bear/grizzly/black bear/wolverine/wolf/moose/caribou/fox) and can move about much more freely without worrying so much about spreading scent and spooking animals. I enjoy hunting moose, but I love hunting caribou just because of the terrain we hunt them in and the wide range of animals that we see.
