2025 Black Friday Deals

Anyone see Mountie Edge Pro 2 or 3 cameras on sale? @robby denning convinced me to ge a couple, at least. Hey Robby, what’s the better overall value? Edge 2 Pro or the regular Edge 3?
That is a good question and this how you know I'm not just a gear pimper.

While the Edge 3 (non Pro) gives the extra features:

Buck Video Mode--meaning it won't send any video unless it detects a buck sounds really good on paper but in 60 days, I've not yet received a buck video, even though bucks have been on the cam. CS has made adjustments but still not working. This is over 2 cams but to be fair, the one cam is in a crappy place and no bucks been captured so I can't say it's working or not. So strike 1 on video capture, Edge 2 (non pro) for the win

Integrated GPS-- while might be good for guys with lots of cams to keep track of, I haven't even looked at it. I know where my cams are and would rather not even have a cam trackable by GPS (donning my Tinfoil hat)
Edge 2 for the win

Camera connection to phone with no signal (for settings adjustment only, not receiving pics)--nice feature but if I don't have cell service, I'm not going to put the cam out. So it's not needed for me. Edge 2 for the win.

Megapixels: Noticably better on daytime color pics with the Edge 3 but it only has 4 more MP than the 2, so not sure why.

So, to answer your question, the Edge 2 wins for value (dollar spent per feature used)

If they get my video working, the Edge 3 would be the clear winner.

let us know what you do and how it works out.

Leaning towards the edge 3 vs edge 2 pro. I can get the edge 3 2-pack for $109 vs $150 for the edge 2 pro 2 pack. I’m not hard up about the buck videos. They are a nice to have. I really care about the AI filtering for pictures, and remote camera adjustments, etc - basically ease of use, changing settings from the la-z boy, and battery preservation.
