Decided to skip gun deer opener in WI and chase ducks instead. Otter was on board with that decision.

Got out after some farm birds today. He was very methodical when getting close to birds and didn’t crash through any while searching. He was also surprisingly steady to flush, shot, and fall. Only gave chased the one bird I missed. Woodcock is open here now so hopefully I can get him on those soon too.

Got his first woodcock today. Flushed 4 but only managed to get 1 down for him.

Got out after wind went down. Good dog work. Birds are a little wild!. Going to have to start taking the .12 if I'm want to shoot them. 410 won't cut it this time of year.
