Minnesota Duck opening weekend.

My dingo held separate singles for more than several minutes. I was able to find the bird laying on her point Saturday, and then bring in my friend's dog to start teaching it to back. That was the first wild bird I've been able to find before it flushed.

I tried the same on Sunday with the big honky, but after a few minutes he flushed a few yards from me. Both birds were with the wind at my back and her casting out a 150yds and working back into me.

This is point number two, I'm curious if anyone can spot the bird.

She's a mutt, so I refer to her as a dingo.

We do have a name board going for the next one and Dingo is on there.

Otter got a few wood ducks this morning. She’s up to 24 retrieves on the year.

Atlas’ first duck hunting retrieve. When you can’t find sharp tails, but run across a grip of ducks in the cow pasture on sheet water with a good opportunity to jump shoot, you take what you can get!

Otter had a unique mixed bag of retrieves today; 1 wood duck, 2 mourning doves, and a beauty of a woodcock. I blew it on the only ruffed grouse flush in the short time we had before it got too warm.

Went out for the youth chukar season and came home with quail. My pup got her very first retrieve though. Not a bad day out.
