Had a first over the weekend. Before this, I could count all the quail I've seen on 1 hand. Dog pointed the covey like a seasoned vet.

Tough day Sunday. Just couldn't find the birds. It was upper 40's, I think they were all out in fields all day. They weren't in the cover! Like my son said, "It's way better than sitting at home."

Killed 2 of the 3 roosters we got within range of today with my dad and his dogs in MT. only get to do this once a year so it was a pretty good day

He's pretty tired tonight. 11.7 miles (to my 4.7) in/ out/ across/ through cold creek bottom and cattails. A very curvy creek through AG fields.

Bird dogs are always happy to be tired!!! So are bird hunters for that matter.

Been pointing a lot of huns lately. They will hold if I can get out front of the dog about 100 yards and pin them between the dog and I.

He was over this hill a ways when he pointed the covey today.

I don't understand how they do it sometimes. The black dog pointed the chukar in the middle of a retrieve with the hun in his mouth. How he could smell a different bird on the ground with a mouth full of bird scent is beyond me.

Been hitting Scalie country pretty hard. Starting to get dialed in on them. Buzz is getting pretty confident for a 9 month old dog, he catches a crosswind and he’s going to go.

Finally had a day without 30+mph winds, yesterday was brutal. Today blue bird cold and the dogs did great. Pup had some good contacts with chukar today, Avery had a nice find on huns, both ran big.
