First bull on a solo public land hunt. Came in screaming to my cow calls and shot him at 18 yards. He went roughly 50 yards and I listened to him take his last breaths. Absolutely amazing experience and I’m very fortunate to have drawn one of the big 3 in Oregon.
Grateful for an unforgettable Montana OTC hunt. All three of us were blessed to fill our tags and our freezers. My bull came to rest in the hollow of a root ball, a fitting reminder that the real work begins after the shot.
