While scouting a pronghorn tag with a buddy yesterday (7/28/24) we ran across this muley in Washoe county. With the state of Nevada's mule deer it was a pleasant surprise to see him.

Archery season is almost here, so post those Nevada bucks you've seen in 2024.

Town bucks are a unique form of torture for me. When I was a kid, muley town bucks just didn't exist in my area. Sometime about 20 years ago it seems they started moving into certain parks and areas near creeks/rivers with cover, inside city limits - they started adapting to being around people in ways they just hadn't before. Some think it had to do with increased mountain lion pressure, and they may be onto something, at least in areas where hunting cats is prohibited. But yeah...seeing comparative "monster" bucks in a park the first time I visited my hometown after a decade or so away was jaw-dropping.

I hunted Unit *** this year. Very difficult with the heat. Basically get from 6:05am to 6:20am and that's it. I was successful on a large buck after spending many days taking an ATV up that nasty road to table. It's slim pickens with the heat this season.

I had a really fun hunt. Yes, it was hot and activity was minimal. I had a muzzleloader tag. Didn't see any giants. My Dad and I hunted with a guide and we spotted this buck on the 4th morning of the hunt. The tag was worth the wait solely for the fact we had minimal to no other hunter pressure on public land.
