You're not kidding @VernAK. I just read many of the proposals for the Western, Interior & Eastern Arctic regions. Things are looking pretty grim up here. Here's the link to the proposals for individuals wishing to get a sense of the atmosphere here in Alaska right now. I definitely wouldn't be suprised if there are limitations both non residents as well as residents coming our way. Alaska is far from the land of milk and honey and with more and more people trying for their "once in a lifetime trip"or their annual meat harvest it's just getting more and more competitive.

With the Nelchina herd hunting probably gone for a decade or two, folks are becoming less willing to see the fall harvest leave the area. The road accessible areas will have more restrictions for residents also......Steese!

Did you ever decide on an outfitter? We booked with Arrowhead for Aug 26 and Misty has been great to work with so far

Hey B_peschke87, 2 friends and I were able to get a cancellation hunt Sept 9th with Arrowhead on the south slope. Are you hunting north or south?

We booked with RAM for August 2022 and all three of us got a caribou. We booked our return trip for Sept 1. 2024 the day we got back to Kotzebue. Hoping for same experience.
