Pretty wide with good mass; both tips sharply bent. 43 yard heart shot & he still ran 150 yards (at top speed).

Managed to stalk him from behind when he followed his 11 does over a hill.

This is my second in three years to have been radio collared - the biologists shared the info on his movements and it was amazing to see how far he roamed...area-wise, over 200 square miles.

I assume they take the collar? I would contemplate having one “recreated” for a shoulder mount. It would make for an interesting conversation piece for house guests!

They had me connect with the local CO to hand over the first one two years ago. This one they told me was now obsolete & would not be re-used, and told me to keep it as a trophy.

"Can do!"

I see it as being similar to shooting a banded duck...

After a poor hit two days earlier, I managed to get a second arrow in this guy.

You think that would be scored as an extension of the prong? If it is man that thing gotta be 12” at that measurement!!!!

Me and the boy each got a nice one. Mine has dual kickers out the back that are really unique. He also had a small “horn” growing out of the middle of his face. First one I’ve seen like that.

I have no idea how to figure it, lol. Never seen one with that and I don’t think the score sheets account for such a thing. I guess it just counts as nothing? Not too worried about the score but I too am curious about that.

I was looking for a buck that was either the symmetrical heart shape or something unique. I spotted two bucks together. One was heart shaped and the other had character. I shot the one with character. I was surprised to find two knobs behind the horns. After 22 years I am very happy with what I got! And so happy to do it with three close friends who came along to help out!

Good for you for sticking with it and following up on the same goat. Can you share some of the story and where your first hit was?

Very special moment for me today. Used a family heirloom to take its first animal in my hands. It’s a Savage 250-3000 pre model 99 made in 1906. Had an antelope horns shorter than ears(doe) tag in my home state of NV.
