Went on my first bull hunt and was able to harvest a nice management 5x5. Weather was warm and almost in the 80's and I was worried that the heat could possibly spoil the meat. Luckily, I shot early in the morning and the bull was in an accessible spot. We had the bull loaded up and headed back to camp by 8:30 am.

Az has cull hunts that are OTC fyi… they are dang tough and otc for a reason though… I think they start in July

Montana has shoulder seasons that open on private lands in 20+ districts for cows and they open August 15th. Many Indian reservations start their hunting seasons as early as July. They manage their own game populations and make their own rules outside the rules of the state. Based on the original post, I'd say it was an Indian reservation hunt for a smaller management type bull. Still a great animal.
