A little late to the party but here’s some pictures from my POW trip. It was my first time to the island and my first time hunting blacktails.

still figuring out my spots down here in The area I live now, but I was quite happy finding this guy on the 12th of October on a cut up, brushed out finger ridge adjacent to big timber. I looked like a great spot for a buck to live. I glassed him up from about only spot you could see him.
It’s great getting to hunt these things and still be able to see the ocean. Pretty blessed to grow up on a place like the Oregon coast.

Has anyone received the age data on their 2023 bucks yet? I just got mine today. He was just a forky but I knew he was a mature buck. He turned out to be 5.5 years old.

A coworker killed a really nice 4 point that ended up being 9.5 years old. Another friend of mine killed a small 4 point that went 4.5 years old.

Finally made it happen on this guy in October. Wa general rifle tag with a bow. Been chasing him for 3 years, missed him in 2022.

Wow! That’s an incredible blacktail! Even cooler that you have history with him. Congrats on a great buck!
